A four-member delegation from UK and Sweden called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today February 6, 2020 at the latter’s office of the university. The members of delegation were Prof. Dr. Peter Sundin of Uppsala University, Prof. Dr. Charlotta Turner and Dr. Margareta Sandahl of Lund University, Sweden and Prof. Dr. Marcel Jaspars of University of Aberdeen, UK.
Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar, Prof. Dr. Md. Iqbal Rouf Mamun and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shoeb of DU Chemistry Department were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they stressed the need for creating public awareness about food, health and environment to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. They discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on these issues among the University of Dhaka, different universities in UK and Sweden.They have agreed to sign a MoU soon in this regard.
Earlier, UK and Swedish Professors delivered lectures in an international seminar on “Food, Health and Environment” at Mukarram Hussain Khundker Biggan Bhaban of DU.
